The Many Faces of The Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush

Share

The Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush ($32) is one of the most popular kabuki brushes on the market today.

It  features an exterior metal case, which appears to be aluminum, outfitted in a variety of pretty pink-ish designs, as seen above, as well as synthetic hair that Too Faced has branded “Teddy Bear Hair.” (We’ve emailed the company to find out exactly what it’s made of, since the company isn’t too transparent about it, and we’ll let you know …)

This brush isn’t the very top-rated kabuki brush on many sites — the long-handled Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki, which retails for $21 and was previously branded the SS197,  and the EcoTools Retractable Kabuki Brush ($7.99) receive slightly better marks — but the Too Faced Retractable Kabuki usually ranks in the top three on most beauty sites, and it has a dedicated following despite its higher price tag of $32.

Retractable kabuki brushes, in general, are a highly ranked brush style because they are so versatile. You can easily toss a retractable kabuki into your purse in its protective covering. But even more helpful, the interior metal sleeve can move up and down the shaft, so one can control the level of brush stiffness, precision and coverage the brush provides.

The Too Faced Retractable Kabuki Brush is also well marketed, with a variety of different designs in the marketplace suited for different retailers. So before you buy your own version of this brush, you might want to also shop for the style you like best. The price is the same regardless of where you get it.
