It’s so important, I’ll repeat that headline again: Understand makeup brushes, understand makeup.
So says Jaclyn Hill, the YouTube beauty guru with more than 3 million subscribers. What she said precisely in the video above here is:
“If you understand your brushes, you can understand makeup.”
Of course, My Brush Betty — the website dedicated to makeup brushes — could not agree more!
That said, the video above is pretty much a commercial for Morphe brushes, which are solid brushes. Just know that many of them are natural hair brushes, which makes them affordable, in addition to being effective. However, you should read this article when contemplating natural hair brushes. Morphe does offer synthetic brushes, but they are typically a bit more expensive.
Here are some of Jaclyn’s Favorite Brushes:
- Morphe M441 – Pro Firm Blending Crease. Goat hair. $5.99.
- Morphe M433 – Pro Firm Blending Fluff. Made with goat hair. $5.99.
- Morphe M439 – Deluxe Buffer. Synthetic. $13.99.
- Morphe E3 – Appears to be sold out!
- Morphe 510 – Pro Round Blender. Make with goat hair. $7.99.
- Morphe 438 – Pointed Contour. Made with sable hair. $9.99.
- Morphe M459. No information listed on bristles. $11.99.
Morphe also has all of Jaclyn’s favorite brushes listed on a single page, so you can see there is most likely some sort of marketing relationship there. Also, the E3 appears to have sold out, so Morphe has added some other powder brushes in its place.
Also, Jaclyn has one of the best all time videos about makeup brushes I’ve referred to before. Here it is again:
